and the population of this district is 25,843 and density of this
district is 6,009 /KM2. Postal codes are 60326, and 60487. The are
codes is 069. Subdivisions of Gullus are seven. The west end of Gulus is with
Griesheim while in north the exhibition center and the Restockpart and in the
south by the railway tracks. The important transport and business asix is
Mainzer Landstrasse, Which is bordered by car dealers, Gas stations and office
buildings, cuts directly across the entire city section.

The Gallus has been the establishment of the Central Station a term coined by industrial and crafts area. The oldest plants are the Adlerwerke in Kleyerstrasse and the iron foundry Mayfarth & Co. played Besides crafts (eg shoe manufacturer), the brakes factory Alfred Teves (ATE) and the German private phone Baugesellschaft Harry Fuld & Co. Historically, the Gallus is the former gallows field west of the medieval city limits of Frankfurt. The name derives from the Galluswarte (actually gallows waiting) since one of the four medieval towers of the city warden. With the Holy Name of the Gallus district has nothing to do originally, but the name was in the late 18th Century converted to take to the area the dubious reputation. A newly-built Catholic church in 1905 in this neighborhood is also dedicated to St. Gallus. Historically, the district is a mixed area. In addition to production and trade played a major role in the transport system, the abandonment of the freight yard there but lost in importance. Still a landmark built in 1880, in contrast, Frankfurt Central Station. In June 2006, the town council on the initiative of the Gallus Group of the Greens voted unanimously to continue to perform as the official designation only the name Gallus and to waive the additional quarter, on the grounds that such a designation long corresponds to common usage. Perhaps most famous is the Gallus Theater in Kleyerstrasse (Adlerwerke), which both established ensembles and freelance artists and groups provides a stage. Personalities
- Lia Wöhr (1911-1994) grew up in Gallus. The city of Frankfurt on the brink of a place named after her gall and placed there on a memorial stone.
- Kleyer Heinrich (1853-1932) was a founder and later much as the CEO of Eagle works in building industry in Gallus involved.
- Michael Thurk (* 1976) grew up in Gallus. His football career began in the 04th district club FFV Sportfreunde
- Thor Kunkel (* 1963) grew up in Gallus. The plot of his novel The Black Light Terrarium largely played out in this district.
- Lotte Specht (1911-2002) grew up in the Gallus and founded in 1930 the first football club for women in Frankfurt. Later, she organized the first stage of Frankfurt dialect.
