Frankfurt am Main Known as Frankfurt

Frankfurt am Main city is commonly famous as Frankfurt. Frankfurt is one of the largest city in Germany. The Frankfurt is in state Hessen of Germany. The Hessen State is representing with red and white color flag. Frankfurt is financial centre of Germany and largest financial centre in continental Europe.In the earliest history, the Frankfurt is ruled by Holy Roman Empires. The first Election was in 1792 was held here. The Frankfurt Messe (Frankfurt Trade Fair) was first mentioned in 1150 and in the year 1372 the Frankfurt becomes the richest city. The first university founded in Frankfurt was in 1914, later called with name Wolf Goethe University. Frankfurt also face World War I and World War II, During the World War II (1939-1945) 5,500 residents were killed.
After the war Frankfurt become the part of newly founded state of Hessen. In 1970s, in Frankfurt created was Europe’s most efficient underground transportation systems. In this transportation include S-Bahn, and U-Bahn. U-Bahn is also capable of travelling on ground in streets.Frankfurt is located on both side of Main River and south east of the Taunus mountain range. It is in the south-western part of the Federal Republic of Germany. In the South part of Frankfurt city is covered with the forest. This forest is also consider the largest forest of Germany. The city area is 248.31 Km2 and extends over 23.4 Km in east west direction and 23.3 Km in north south direction. The city centre of Frankfurt is located on the north side of the Main River.
The west side of Frankfurt is with administrative district (Landkreis) of Main-Taunus-Kreis with cities such Hattersheim am main, Kriftel, Hofheim am Taunus, Kelkheim(Taunus), Liederbach am Taunus, Sulzbach(Taunus), Schwalbach am Taunus and Eschborn, to the northwest the Hochtaunuskreis with Steinbach (Taunus), Oberursel (Taunus) and Bad Homburg vor der Höhe, to the north the Wetteraukreis with Karben and Bad Vilbel, to the northeast the Main-Kinzig-Kreis with Niederdorfelden and Maintal, to the southeast the city of Offenbach am Main, to the south the Kreis Offenbach with Neu-Isenburg and to the southwest the Kreis Groß-Gerau with Mörfelden-Walldorf, Rüsselsheim and Kelsterbach.
